MP Forum Closing Times

Hi All,

The Admins of the forums have decided that there will be a closing/opening time for the forums.

OPENIG TIME:

12.00 AM (AEST)

CLOSING TIME:

10.OO PM

Please Note, that these closing time WILL NOT BE IN EFFECT if we have more than 5 normal members online at closing time, in which case the forum will NOT shutdown.

No offence, Will, but what exactly is the point of closing the forum down for the night?

Well, it was not actually me who really"pushed" this idea, rather lilly. I granted her wish, allowing there to be a closing time.

Yes, that does help me, thank you Will. I will be in contact with Nikki to find out a reason for this seemingly pointless forum closing.

yeah true it is kinda pointless giving a forum closing time but at least the hours are not ridiciolous mabey make the 10pm go to like 12 am

oh yeah forgot to add its also unfair on people in western austrlia because that means the forums open 5 am for them and close at 7 pm if my calcuations are right

For example, me, which also puts a burden on the rest of the moderation team because there will obviously be a small window of time for WA mods to moderate.

Guys, The Closing Time is For Mods Who Wont be up At that time

And If you Have a Problem With This, Take it up with Lilly

The Closing time makes it easyer for Mods And Admins

As were not there Things Can happen Like

Spamming and Other Things

And I Myself, Would Hate to wake up, Find that The forum has been Spammed And than Go And Delete The Spam

Ive got two points here.

One, if mods and admins won't be on late, then why is it that non-mods and non-admins are going to be on? I'm sure most of us will have better lives than to be on after closing time and spamming the forums. And anyway, as the OP stated, if enough members were online at closing time the forum would not close, but those people could just as easily spam the forum, or a spammer could easily wait for anyone to go offline, and spam the hell out of the forum. Either way it's the same result.

Secondly, That is extremely biased, seeing as this closing time only really suits people from the Eastern States, leaving us Western Australians very much left out. If you really want us to "take this up with Lilly", maybe you should tell us when shes not AFK for more than 5 minutes. Good luck finding that time.

Your argument there was a bit bluffy and.. invalid. You didn't really argue with much of what I said, since it's still VERY easy to spam the forum. I could do it any time. Anyone could. Closing team seems absolutely unnecesary.

This is not spam, it's completely on topic. You're just a bit butthurt that you're arguments have no substance, and there's absolutely no point in a closing time.
